“Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in His commands.” Psalm 112:1 NIV
We all go through times of obedience and disobedience. When I look back at my times of obedience and disobedience towards God, I see something very distinctive. The attitude of my heart. In my disobedience, my heart was filled with pride and disrespect to God. I even walked away from Him for a matter of years. The life I led had temporal happiness but not long-lasting blessedness. The choices I made where self-destructive and heart breaking to those who truly loved me. But as the psalmist wrote, “Praise the Lord!!” My heart was turned back to God and His ways. In my obedience, I have found long-lasting happiness and blessedness. This does not mean that I never face storms and trials in my life because I do. It does mean that when I do face these storms, I know that God will carry me through them. So when I study this verse and by looking a key words in the hebrew meaning. It says to me…..Hallelujah! Happy are you (Crisi) who reverence and stand in awe of the Lord, you who delights in obeying. You see it is an issue with our heart.
“Keep thy heart with all diligences; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 NIV
