I am in a rut and I am tired of it. I want more, more, more. I want more for my family, more for my life!!! Sounds pretty selfish doesn’t it. Doesn’t sound like something you would find from a christian woman’s blog who proclaims Christ to be the center of her life. The view from the eyes of my heart is a longing and a want for more of Christ. I spent several hours writing and rewriting, praying for the words to come out right from God. It wasn’t happening so I set it to the side and went on to another post for the week. In church on sunday, the sermon went right along with what I was trying to put to ink. Talk about God speaking loud and clear.
First point – Expectation – the expectation of God at work. “When you stop dreaming, You start dying.” – Bryan Herrington. Ok God, you have my attention! Over the past few weeks I had come to realize, I had stopped dreaming sometime ago, I have been only living. Yes, living what I have been learning but not dreaming and definitely not expecting great things from God. I had become content with whatever He deemed my reward. Guess what? I have been dying! Life’s pressures have seemed to avalanche over me, sweeping me under feet of snow. Looking up to God and pleading, “Lord, I want more of what it use to be.” He said,”No, you need to expect more from Me. Expect great things, look harder for Me as I present Myself. You need to claim ALL of My promises.”
Point Two – Presentation – The presentation of the Lord to others. Again, something I need to do more of. It’s easy for me to write about how God shows Himself in my life, but Ouch! I don’t take the verbal chances as much as I should in my everyday life with the non believers, who are watching and waiting to see how I respond.
Point Three – Invitation – The invitation to know God, to experience God. Here’s the thing – to experience God more!!! I need to stop being afraid of showing up for my life and start expecting great things from my God. Start dreaming again, share more openly what God is doing and reclaiming my promises from God. So that I can experience more of God in my life. For as much as I want more, I am reminded He already knows the plans He has made for my life and for your life. We just need to continue dreaming and expecting Great thing from God.
Now it’s your turn. If your right here with me, wanting more and expecting great things from God; write in the comment area “I’m expecting great things from God”.
In His Love, Crisi
Absolutely Crisi! I keep being surprised how many great things God has in store when I take the time to really listen and see and when I invite Him into all aspects of my life.
Amen, so true.
