God’s Grace Pt. 1
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV
2 Corinthians 12:7b-10
We see hear that Paul expresses that he was given a thorn in his side, a messenger of Satan, to torment him. Some think his thorn was a health ailment others believe it was a person. However it’s not the point of what was the source of his thorn, but that he took it to God in prayer and the answer he received is true for us as well. When we are afflicted and struggling, as believers we have a promise from God that His grace is sufficient. When we are at our weakest, we are also at our strongest because of the power of Christ.
Personal Connection
What about the thorn/thorns in your side? Is God’s grace sufficient for you? Is His strength made perfect from your weaknesses? Like Paul, I gladly proclaim a huge YES!!! Because of those infirmities. Many times over and over again, His grace has been more than sufficient for me to rest on. Over the Christmas holidays, I had several thrones in my side that came from co-workers behaving badly, to a relative’s emotional reaction/character bashing words. By Christmas eve when the last thorn of the season arrived, my emotions were splattered all over the road as truck after truck ran over them. Then a call came from the prison, my brother had been rushed into emergency surgery. God had seen me through each thorn, but it was only by His power that I was able to continually see His strength being made perfect in me. I boast about my infirmities not out of pride but because of God’s power that saw me through each and every thorn. In that season of resting upon Him. His grace was poured over me in such a powerful ways that I know it was only by Him alone. I recognized those graces by hearing Him talk to me through confirmation in scriptures, little answers to prayers, big answers to prayers and through christian music speaking to me.
So again I will ask. What about the thorn/thorns in your side? Is God’s grace sufficient for you? Is His strength made perfect from your weaknesses?

Mercy! What a Christmas season. I’m glad you were able to feel his hand with you every step of the way!
Hi Helen. Yes it was…it sucked the joy out of celebrating Jesus’ birth, however through the tears and turmoil God’s grace was enough and His power was displayed in ways I could never imagined. Thanks for stopping by.
