My heart is overflowing with thankfulness for the ministries that God has enabled my church to provide. Last week was VBS and as I looked at the pictures of each day as they are posted. You couldn’t help but feel the excitement and joy of each child and worker. Jesus being taught through an amusement park theme. I wish I could explain the excitement of the week, but I can only share how God displayed Himself through the Family Night that was hosted. The job appointed to me was assigning helpers to specific activities and help greet the families that came over to the picture table. It was Wednesday night, the aroma of concession stand foods filled the air. The excitement was mounting as joyful children filled the room with their parents, trying to decide what to do first. Hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn or one of the bounce houses, to many choices, Which one do I chose? Some choose bounce houses first while others choose food but fun was being had by all. As I went around periodically checking with each helper, my attention was drawn to a little boy. At one of the bounce houses we were only allowing six children in at a time. The little boy so happened to be the sixth child but instead of going in he stopped to let the girl behind him join in with her friend. You may not think that this would be such an attention grabber but to me it was, This child was showing God’s love through his actions. By all rights it was his turn, but he waited just a little bit longer to let a girl play with her friends. As the evening came to an end, exhausted children and their families left for yet another day waiting to return the next day for so more Bible school.
When it comes to serving there is nothing to small or minor to be done. Pray how you can be used in your church. Pray that God would show you what gift He has gifted you with. Thank you for all who serve in your church and in mine. The reward for faithful service is ours but the glory goes to God.
In His Love, Crisi
