An unexpected package arrived in the mail from my brother who is in prison. Inside nothing except two beautifully, handcrafted necklace and matching bracelets. Someone with nothing, with no means, thinking of me his beloved sister. It was protected with care and then mailed. The tears came to my eyes by just looking at them. Tears flowed down my checks because of the humility. Here I am enjoying my freedoms, surrounded by the ones I love, able to serve as God has gifted me. To receive this special gift was more than my heart could bear at the moment. To think he made these lovely items with his own two hands, thinking of me with each bead that was stranded. And what had I done to deserve them? Nothing but love him. As I carefully untaped them from their secure placement, my thought went to what Jesus had done for me on the cross. Who am I to deserve God’s precious gift? What had I done to deserve it? Again the answer is nothing! I had done nothing but believe in Him and accepted His gift. This beautiful gift from my beloved brother now reminds me of the love God has for me.
