Have you ever been to a beauty party? Most all the women I know have at one time or another. The tables are set up with personal mirrors, trays, and disposable tools. Then the fun begins, stripping away of the makeup you apply before arriving. Then applying layer upon layer of products transforms everyone into this beautiful creation. It was at one of these parties that God revealed Himself through the love of a sweet friend. Like most people, I am my worst critic. I was applying foundation making my concerns about those pores that seemed like craters on my face. When one of my sweet friends stopped what she was doing and got in my face. Literally a quarter-inch away from my face and said “Crisi when we look at you, we do not look at you from this distance.” Point taken, we hugged, laughed and went on with the party.
How many times though have we done the same thing with God? Making our vocal concerns about why we can not do something. Then out of love He gets right in your face and tells you how much He love you and how much He want to do for you. The last Bible study we did was “A Sudden Glory” by Sharon Jaynes. The key verse was Acts 17:28 “In Him we live, and move and have our being.” It starts out making a point that we need to understand and remember. It is all about what God wants for us. Not what God wants us to do. So when we start making our concerns about what He ask us to do. We need to be still, listen to Him and do as He ask. There is something in there that He wants for us.
In His Love, Crisi
