Wounds Into Beautiful Scars
The amazing thing about God’s saving grace and mercy shows us God’s unconditional love for us. In this short series, we will touch on different wounds that God will turn into beautiful scars that we can hold dear to. Wounds that when not treated can turn into infectious diseases. However the balm of Gilead can wash over those wounds and bring healing, turning them into beautiful scars. The trials/struggles/events that have happened in my life created wounds. Some have been very deep wounds, while there are others that I am still seeking God on while He heals them.
This series has come about due to an earlier post “Holding Dear To My Scars”. I have felt a tugging, not just to share but in some areas to continue on with the healing process. When I look back upon my life, I stand in amazement that I have not been torn down and completely destroyed. I have asked myself, “How can one person go through so much?” As hard as it may seem, there are others who have and are going through as much if not more. As a believer, I have seen that God has always been with me, and has never forsaken me. He has been true to His promises. Over the past few weeks, we have been learning about our inheritance from God. Up to this point, I have always believed that there was something different about me. No, I do not think I am special. However, the deeper we get into this study, the more the Lord has been confirming to me. I am the generation who is going to take and possess the promise land given to my ancestors. I am like Ester, made for such a time as this. Yes, I am saying this boldly but not pridefully because it is still all under His control. I know there will be weeks that I will be afraid to hit the publish button but I will, if for no other reason than I must do it afraid. Knowing that God will be with me every step of the way and that fear will be lessened.
Our key verse through this series will be
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 NIV
Lets break this verse down. “let us approach God’s throne of grace with confidence” signifies the seat of divine power which is where God seats and is the source of this power and endless grace. We must first approach Him and approach Him with confidence. 2 Corinthians 3:4 tells us we have this confidence because of Christ before God. “So that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need”, refers to God’s goodness that He has already extended to us when we come to Him. Mercy from God is what pardons our sins and His grace cleanses our souls. He is our rock that we can stand on. He will lift us up and His glory will be shown and He will be glorified. So approach His throne of grace with me and pour the hurts from your wounds at His feet. He will help us in our time of need just as He has promised.
Will come on this journey with me today? He is sitting on His throne waiting for us to approach. Just as the Israelites had to take to battle for what was already given to them by God and just like Ester who had to go before the king to save her people. We also must take action.
In His Love, Crisi
