Why Are You Waiting?
One of the hardest things to do in life, is waiting!! Why are you waiting? In my life: I wait to go into work, I wait for school to get out, I wait for endless things. Waiting has been hard, but it has gotten easier. I have learned what to do in those times of waiting.
But what about our spiritual lives? I wait for answered prayers. I wait for God’s knowledge. I wait to have wisdom, on how to deal with a situation. I wait for the calling to move forward. What are we to do while we wait? One thing God tells me is:
“Be still, and know that I am God;” Psalm 46: 10 A
What do you do these times when God tells you to “Be Still”? He wants us to be still for a reason. When we are still, we are able to focus on Him and be able to hear Him. So while you are being still why not apply the following.
4 Things To Do While Waiting
When we have been called to wait, either by God or by life. Use your time wisely!
- P – PREPARE: Get your heart and mind ready by grabbing your Bible, pen and paper.
- R – READ God’s Word: The best way to hear and see the truths that He wants to reveal to us is to get into His Word. Don’t get me wrong, He does talk to us in other ways as well but His Word is our best resource.
- A – ASK God: Pray from your heart and soul. Ask Him to show you His truths. There is a reason behind our waiting, and we need to seek Him to find out why?
- Y – YIELD: Apply what has been revealed. Just get out there and obey His truths for you. Maybe, but more likely your waiting will not be that long.
Next time you are waiting, will you try to P.R.A.Y.?

Waiting is universal that’s for sure – whether it’s waiting at the DDS or at the grocery story or for my daughter to grow up in some area or for me to trust God more. I like your acrostic. Today while watering the flowers outside (waiting for the soaking – no rain of late) I prayed for our girls and some girlfriends – good waiting time with no waste. I always need the reminded that God is outside of time so waiting is no big deal – except when He waits for me to trust Him!
Sorry you haven’t had any rain lately, while watering your flowers was an excellent time for waiting. How true about God waiting, I know He waits for me to trust Him also.
