Something Amazing
The typical summer weather pattern has begun. Hot, steamy and sunny during the day. Come the afternoon hours, the sky grows darker to be lit up by bolts of lightning, the roar and cracks of the thunder begins its growls. Soon the sky releases the rain. That was the scene I witnessed but something amazing happened that I never noticed before. In the middle of the storm there he flew from branch to branch. Only pausing long enough to shake his wings, a black bird receiving a bath. As the storm was winding down, almost in unison a choir of birds began to sing, making praises in the storm.
“Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!” Luke 12:24 NIV
I asked myself, how many times have you sang praises in the storm? Looking past the storm itself and just sang out praises to God. Singing out has been a stress reliever from the storm. It has helped me to remain hopeful. It has been a way for me to sing out to God the words from my heart that I don’t know how to say. Then after the storm has passed, I have been able to see the lessons to be learned from the storm. How God orchestrated those to feed me while I couldn’t sow or reap during the storm. He has proved time over time just how valuable I am to Him. What about you?
Our heavenly Father takes care of the animals in the wild, just as He takes care of us. Do you know how much He values you? Have you learned how to sing praises in the storms, like the birds?
