As we have explored the different influences that has played a hand on where we set our own moral compass.I would like to visit with religion. How my religion has been one of the most important influence in the setting of my own personal compass. When you say the words religion, or religious those who do not have a personal relationship with Christ. Usually react to us consciously or unconsciously in one of two ways. You’re a good two shoe or a hypocrite. Their feelings may be that there are too many “do not does” in the Bible. They have had bad experiences with those who are in the church or those in their life who do not walk the walk they are preaching. They have had people try to shove religion down their throat. Or they have a horrible taste in their mouth with religion and religious people. For those people I tell them I am sorry for that representation of Christ towards them. That is not what a follower of Christ, a believer should be. We should be a reflection of God. A God who loves us so much that he sent His Son to earth to die on the cross for our sins. We should live a life of love, patience, compassion, empathy, forgiveness, long suffer, full of grace, full of mercy, joyful and peaceful. We should have the fruits of the spirit that are listed in Galatians visible in our life to those looking in.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 NIV
What has God placed on your heart? When it comes to setting you moral compass.
In His Love, Crisi
