Gratitude is thankfulness, gratefulness, counting our blessings, appreciation of or for, and it is a virtue.
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” John F. Kennedy
When I live a life of gratitude it changes my perspective. I’m able to serve with a joyful heart. I’m able to live a life that is content with what I have. I make a conscious decision to express my gratitude. Do I always live a life of gratitude? The sad truth is no. Some days are harder than others to be thankful. When my defenses are down on those days, Satan moves in with the attack. Almost every time he has attacked was when my focus was more of an ungrateful attitude. Gratitude is also a choice. A choice we must make everyday and every minute. God’s Word in my heart and God in my being makes it easier for me to see when my life doesn’t show gratefulness. His Words remind me to choose gratitude and to live a life of gratitude.
“This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
