“But blessed is the one who trust in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” Jeremiah 17:7 NIV
In March, seven years ago, my trust in the Lord was great. Even though the outcome was not what I wanted, my confidence in my Lord was not shattered nor my trust in Him. In this life changing event, I had a decision to make…..continue trusting in my Lord or allow this event to harden my heart towards God. I chose to trust God. In a few short months to follow another life changing event occurred. Again I was faced with the same decision. I chose to trust God. The events of that year could have left me hopeless but instead it was a turning point into a deeper relationship with my Lord. Those involved in these events were not sufficient, they did not have the power or any strength to heal, restore or empower something better. There is only one and that is God.
I do not trust in the Lord just because I’m commanded. I trust in the Lord because He is my salvation and hope. He is your salvation and your hope as well. He knows the plans He has made for us. Those plans are to prosper us and to give us hope and a future. When you are faced with trials and storms in life don’t try to lean on your own understanding. Put your trust toward God and be confident in Him.
