Read Mark 11:27-12:27
The next day, Jesus and His disciples came back to the temple. Upon entering the chief priest, the elders and the teachers of the law approached Him and began by questioning His authority. They had talked a bit before Jesus tells a parable to them. They recognized that the parable was against them. We see them now with a burning desire to kill Jesus. They go out and enlist the help of the Pharisees and the Herodian to trap Jesus in His words. With no luck of trapping Him, the Sadducees get in on questing Him. Throughout this whole debates a teacher of the law was listening and found a good opportunity to debate Jesus as well.
With this last debate, Jesus gave to us the greatest commandment of all. To love God with everything and to Love one another. When we follow this commandment there is no room for us in our actions. When we are filling our heart, mind and soul with love towards God, our thoughts and our actions are going to show love to others. How can we have room for anything else when we full of Love? God’s Word explains to us what love is:
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV
What Jesus did on the cross was His undying love for all mankind.
